The Chainsmokers; Setting Records

The Chainsmokers have recently released a series of new singles from their debut album Memories…Do Not Open. The album is still holding strong on the charts despite being released so long ago (approximately one year). So much so, it matched a long running record on the Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The most popular electronic records land themselves on this chart. The Chainsmokers’ album recently hit the thirty-four consecutive week mark. There’s no sign of the album slowing down anytime soon.

Memories…Do Not Open has officially tied with the Gorillaz’s album Demon Days. That album is actually still sitting pretty on the charts. It has been thirteen years since it originally debuted. The thirty-four week record is the third highest amount of consecutive weeks on the chart. If the trend continues it looks like The Chainsmokers will end up beating the record. Leaving the Gorillaz in the dust, The Chainsmokers might be coming for the number one and two spots. There are some pretty impressive tracks on the record. Artists like Halsey got their fame from the Memories album. We can only sit and wait to find out what kind of hits are going to come from future work from The Chainsmokers.

The Chainsmokers first debut hit the charts hard and heavy. It was number one in its first week on the Top Dane / Electronic Albums chart. It seemed as though one hit was coming after another. Anytime you turned on the radio, it was part of the top forty breakdown. Memories…Do Not Open has not left the top five spots since it came out. Some pretty impressive releases have come out from other artists this past year. Nothing has touched The Chainsmokers record. Calvin Harris, William Control and Above & Beyond are all struggling to catch up. Even Avicii’s album didn’t make its way back to the top after his untimely death this year. We can only sit back and wait to see what will come of The Chainsmokers reign. This is one group that has withstood the test of time.

CHAINSMOKERS ALEX PALLS ARTIST JOURNEY

The journey for aspiring artists can be a windy road. Sometimes, when synergies flow, individuals meet with common ideals that seem to take them to a new level.

Mathias Rosenzweig sat down with Alex Paul from the Chainsmokers in New York and captured that type of journey in an insightful interview that depicted the drive shared that lead to the success of the Chainsmokers.

Alex Paul and Andrew Taggart are two guys cut from the same cloth it seems. A pair of the same breed that have combined their talents to compose their latest track, “Closer”, to already past singles they have created. They create dance music that goes beyond just the peer synths and drops and add feeling plus emotion to their music. Their audience gets good dance music coupled with something the delves deeper than just the single layered beats and arrangements.

Alex Pall grew up being a DJ. What started out as a hobby that felt more like fun than work lead to passions that drove him to something bigger with the Chainsmokers. Dance music consumed his life at a time where his peers seemingly were not choosing dance as their main flavor. Keeping with what he loved lead to where he is today. Eventually quitting his job and moving to Maine to get it started.

One of the original Chainsmokers left opening up a spot that lead to the magic of this duo to be able to combine. The two clicked right off the bat and worked daily making music that created their unique personality. With their latest songs they have started stepping out more from the dance music that seems to be saturated out there today and within their own music. Deciding to step out of the norm and muddying the waters with a more personal tempo, they have created a distinct tone seen in their latest song, “Closer”.

Having traveled the world, Alex Pall says adding new elements to their show and moving forward with fresh ideas will guide them in the years to come. With what we’ve seen so far we can look forward to more great music from this creative duo.

Perfect day ☀️

Kim Dao New Apartment

Recently YouTube vlogger Kim Dao posted a new video highlighting her new apartment (https://ideamensch.com/kim-dao/). She got a new apartment in Australia. She is excited to be moving back. Kim Dao felt as though she did not Vlog enough while she was in Europe. Now that she is back in Korea she is hoping to get back into a routine prior to her move to her new apartment in Australia. Kim Dao plans on doing more videos once she is living in Australia. Kim Dao and her boyfriend bought the apartment together in 2014. They felt they were ready to move on with their lives though they weren’t ready to move in together at that point. It took over three years for the apartment to be built. Next month she will be moving in with her boyfriend. They came to the decision when Kim Dao was 23, almost 24. Her friend who was selling apartments told Kim and her boyfriend about the new apartments that were being built. Kim and her boyfriend talked about it because apartments are quite expensive in Australia. They had to put down a 10% deposit. Kim’s boyfriend just went in for an inspection and they do wish the bedroom was a little bit bigger but they do love the modern kitchen and the fact that the apartment has two bathrooms.
