A Look At How Betsy DeVos Is Changing Education For The Better

Elizabeth DeVos is the daughter of a billionaire businessman and is also married to a billionaire husband. Yet despite her immense wealth, Elizabeth DeVos is best known for being an advocate for school choice and better educational outcomes. For decades, this wealthy philanthropist has pushed for school choice programs in her state and beyond.

She has achieved success in her home state of Michigan. Betsy DeVos managed to get school voucher programs passed there. The program allowed low-income parents to send their kids to other schools besides the dismally performing public schools their kids were assigned. It was one example of many victories that Elizabeth DeVos had achieved in the fight for school choice.

Betsy DeVos knows how important a good education is to a child. A strong education can set up a child for a good and rewarding career in their adult life. Bad education can limit opportunities and let bright minds waste away. Mrs. DeVos is also a parent and grandparent. She knows firsthand the impact that schools play on the development of a child and their family.

Elizabeth DeVos not only talks about school reform and choice. She takes action in this regard. Betsy DeVos is a major benefactor in the school choice movement. She also leads groups that promote school choice options for parents and their children across the nation. Her campaigns have led to the passing of school vouchers, the establishment of magnet and charter schools and greater overall school choice in dozens of states. Betsy DeVos has proven that she not only wants change but that she can achieve change in education as well.

Betsy DeVos was recently chosen to be the nation’s top education official. As the Secretary of Education, Elizabeth DeVos will have a major platform to spread the school choice movement. She will also work to improve educational outcomes for all students.

Her mission as Education Secretary is to not only manage the United States Department of Education but to reform the educational system in an effort to make it better. This will entail the use of school choice initiatives. These initiatives should help kids by making it easier for them to attend a school where they want to be. They will no longer have only one option when it comes to their K-12 education.

Educational reform is an issue that will have much resistance. There are powerful teacher unions and bureaucracies that stand in the way of reform. Betsy DeVos is determined to achieve her goal of improving and reforming the educational system. Those close to her know that she will work both behind the scenes and be out in public to get things done. We should expect serious changes and positive developments in educational policy while she leads the United States Department of Education.

Dick DeVos Article Recap

Dick DeVos is one of the new council members appointed to the Management Advisory Council by the Federal Aviation Administration. The council was created to help the FAA come up with new regulations, policies, and future growth. While the FAA has already been working on new ideas to handle advances in technology, it has yet to come up with solutions for price stabilization and employment problems that have plagued the industry for years.

DeVos is familiar with many of the issues that have plagued the industry for years. He has been working alongside airline executives and the CEO of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport. Now he will be working alongside transportation authorities and former airline executives to affect the policies and regulations that will shape the aviation industry in the future.

There are a lot of things that many do not know about Dick DeVos. For one, he is more than just a businessman. For more than 30 years, he has been working with business leaders and airline executives. He is also an avid pilot as well with licenses for jets and helicopters. It started in the 1990s when he wanted to look at new ways to grow Grand Rapids, his hometown and place he lived with his wife, the US Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.

He started by looking at areas of downtown where he could invest in as a philanthropist, and then he looked towards education. After a governor run in Michigan, he became the President and CEO of The Windquest Group. For many years, he has also been a partner to the CEO of the Gerald R. Ford Airport, which has been expanding in recent years. Ever since its re-launch in 1999, DeVos has worked with the airport to add new flights and terminals from different airlines, including Air Tran Airways and Southwest.

Recently, the airport underwent a major renovation that cost over $45 million. The renovation brought together several airlines who chipped in to make sure that the terminals, food court, and business traveler areas were upgraded. The new business traveler center will contain all new technology to help service the clientele of the airport, which is mainly business travelers from Canada and Mexico.

There are also a ton of new flights added on, including those to Orlando, St. Louis, Las Vegas, and Denver. These new flights allow travelers to go just about anywhere through the Grand Rapids Airport.

DeVos has contributed greatly to the changes in Grand Rapids, making it one of the top cities in Michigan and an overall rapidly growing city in America. Through the DeVos Family Foundation, many new buildings were also created to promote growth in downtown, such as the DeVos Performing Arts Center and DeVos Convention Center.

DeVos will be meeting with the council every three months to give his advice on what to do next.

Betsy DeVos Finds Success in Education, Seeks to Reform Department of Education.

Betsy DeVos is a reformer and she has been one her entire life. So, it only stands to reason that she will be a reformer at the highest levels of political office. President Donald J. Trump nominated Betsy DeVos to the position of Secretary of Education in order to overlook the entire Department of Education. The nomination was largely met with silence as DeVos was not on the national radar. Yet, in nominating Betsy DeVos, President Trump made good on one of his core campaign promises: to give a voice to outsiders who would have otherwise been left behind in the dust. Betsy DeVos got off to a rocky start during her confirmation hearing, but those unwilling to look past that hearing to the greater work of the new Secretary of Education are falling into a trap that few can afford to in this political climate. Rest assured, Betsy DeVos is a political pugilist, a bulldog, and a fighter. Let’s learn more about DeVos’ rise to the highest rungs of the political ladder.

Betsy DeVos comes from Michigan and she was born in a town named Holland. In Michigan (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/answer-sheet/wp/2017/04/06/what-is-education-secretary-betsy-devos-doing-with-the-rapper-pitbull-in-miami/?utm_term=.dac9eddf93b8), DeVos was raised to follow three important things: family, faith, and her conservative values. Betsy DeVos would take these three traits and focus on them as she grew up which eventually led her to pursue higher education at Calvin College. At Calvin College, Betsy DeVos would first fall in love with politics as she became involved throughout campus. From there, Betsy would go on to lead a political action committee while spending six years as the chairman of the Michigan Republican Party. Betsy DeVos was getting experience and she was using it to engineer her rise to the top, all while becoming one of the most prominent and powerful voice for conservative educational reform known as school choice.

Betsy DeVos says of the future of school choice, made initially popular by Milton Friedman, “I’ve never been more optimistic.” DeVos goes on to point out that there are 33 publicly-funded institutions that follow the school choice program through 17 states. More than a quarter of a million students are enrolled in the aforementioned programs and with DeVos in the Department of Education, those numbers could jump in a large way. DeVos has been effective on the state level and now she is going to be handed the keys to the national program and we expect great changes in the future.
